Is anyone else pumped for this film?

It's the latest James Cameron effort and he's been away awhile.

It basically looks like Halo the film, set on an alien planet with massive space battles, dragons and monsters.

Check out the trailer, it's out in December and expected to be huge.

It's also 3D and supposed to herald some great new step forward in the way we watch film.

Actually this film is nothing to do with the old anime series. I believe M Night Shaylaman is directing a film based on that.

The Cameron film is nothing to do with it, it's set on an alien moon where human's battle to take over a primitive indian like tribe of humanoids, aided by a human who takes over an Avatar body via mind control only to feel conflicted about which side he should take in the coming war.

It's a big sci fi/fantasy blockbuster with human machines, space craft and weaponry on the one side and alien tribespeople on flying dragons on the other.

It looks to be the biggest fantasy action film since the Lord of the Rings trilogy

I'm looking forward to it, although it would be much better I suspect in IMAX with the 3d. We don't have that here. The imagery looks amazing.
