Who is the man at HW?
I've gone Vitali as he was the man before he left and no-one really took the mantle and now he's back and is the best again.

vitalis the man for me
To be dethroned you have to be beat which he hasnt yet been
one dangerous horrible bloke
I think Vitali is the man at heavyweight. I can't see anyone having a real chance against him. With Wlad, there are guys who have a reasonable puncher's chance that would hinder him being a dominant champ but not the case with Vitali.
Simple, Wladimir, he's 11(8 KO)-0 since the loss to Lamon Brewster in 2004, he's unified titles, he's defended the IBF title 7 times producing 6 stoppages, he's fought 4 southpaws and beaten all of them KO'ing 3, and he's beaten Ruslan Chagaev who at the time was the highest ranked challenger in the entire division and he did it on short notice and he stopped him.
Vitali has beaten Sam Peter (Wlad already beat him), Juan Carlos Gomez (he looked a little sloppy in that fight), and Cris Arreola....Vitali is fighting regularly and doing very well but just to be even at the top of this division he's going to need to win the WBA belt.
People will say I am biased but Wlad has had some tough style matchups and he has come through with wins in all of them.
Wlad. He's beaten ever challenge in the division minus his brother and David Haye. He would've beat Haye too had he not backed out.
I voted Valuev because there was no John Ruiz option. We all know he's the TRUE champ. Seriously, saying 'I expect 0 votes' is just too tempting if you're bored on a Friday night.
Truthfully, I've got to say its Wlad. In years to come we will appreciate how good he is. I don't think he is or ever will be Top 10 of all time at HW, but for me he's already Top 20.
Wlad for me, he's got the Ring & Saddo Championship belts!
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
...I don't know about that, people are so certain Vitali would beat Wladimir, but it's not like Wlad is a slouch, it's not like Wlad can't box, it's not like Vitali is head and shoulders better than Wlad. Wladimir has a better arsenal than Vitali and is far superior as a BOXER and if he was to press the action I doubt Vitali (who fights in spurts) would be able to handle it.
I think Vitali is underrated as a boxer. Ok he might not be as text book as Wlad but he doesn't make many mistakes either and when he does he has a very good (although i'm not sure it's as good as it once was) chin.
Another thing is Wlad nearly always has height and reach on his side and when he doesn't it's against someone who is not anywhere near his league (not that there are many in the Klits league at the mo), but against Vitali he would be giving up 2 inches in height and I think they both have 80" reach so that would be equal.
It's a shame they are brothers really because there is a genuine big time HW clash there and we will never see it!
...it's fun to speculate, but I'd back Wlad in a fight vs Vitali he's more fundamentally sound
I wouldn't know, but Spinks could be as sound as Ray Robinson it wouldn't change the fact he was basically a light heavyweight
It's a farcical situation imo. Of course Wlad probably deserves the spot as he's defended his belt many times and tried to unify the division.
His brother coming back has thrown a wrench into things though. He won't ever unify of course, and will never fight his brother but if they were not related and could go up against each other, I have little doubt, that even at 38 Vitali beats the snot out of the younger Wladimir.
i am going with vitali, just because he fought lewis & lewis was such a dominant HW champ that the fact vitali stayed in a real fight with him that i gotta go for him! if vitali fought wlad i would defo go for the older brother by KO
