    Default Sparring Question.

Me and my friend spar for conditioning and are both going to start boxing. I would say that I am more cordinated and definitly hit much harder and faster. My problem is that when we spar he just comes in and starts swinging. I'll back away and move, but the room is small and I don't have alot of room. He'll spar like it's a street fight and I spar like it's a sweet science. What would be a good gameplan for a brawler like this?

If you're in a proper sized area, you wanna move a lot, and you want to throw straight punches down the middle.

The key is to not really be afraid of him, and just step in and let him have it. Like everyone else said, the psycho punching thing may seem a bit scary, but the punches tend to lack the power of a controlled punch, and they have almost no defense. Just dont back down, and step in with a big right hand down the middle. He'll reconsider his strategy very quickly.
Boxing is like a handjob, and MMA is like a hot sweaty orgy with 5 chicks. I could never say no to a handjob, but which would you rather have?

Yeah ive sparred with a guy like this. He was decieving. He looked all calm and shit and then he went skitso. I wasnt prepared for him to be doing this so it looked like i was getting beaten for half the spar. Then i got sick of him hitting me so when the trainer split us up when he charged in i stood there and hit him with a 1,2 to the face (he nilly cryed lol) then a couple more straight lefts and rights. He then rushed me into a wall but i pushed him away and hit him with a right hook which nilly decked him. He didnt want to spar any more after that. I sparred him once more a couple months later. He rushed out, i hit him with a right uppercut and a left hook and dropped him...........he didnt want to continue . My advice is too move and circle them. Use your jab to keep them away from you.

Som1 who punches big and hard is 1: doesnt have any idea how 2 box. or 2: Is som1 that is realy good at boxing and is good at dodging or parrying punches and countering.

Mike tyson's style was alot like this, i mean how many times did he jab in his fights compared to other boxers.

    Thanks guys,

We're both big buys. He's around 260 lbs. and I'm around 230 lbs. I was starting to think, I was being to defensive. Next time I'm gonna jab-straight his ass. Then get inside and throw the hooks lol.

dont spar at home b4 you have a visit to the gym.
cuz this will only bring bad habits to you and your friend who already has to many.
so go to a gym, learn some boxing and then you can spar.

cuz if you went to a gym you would not be asking this question, because you would know the answer.

Well really I think because of my style that I would say stand your ground and come in with counters. When I spar someone with the windmill style (throwing wild punches) I kept my hands up so most punches hit my gloves because they are not straight punches, then I bob and weave as well as using the jab/counters to push him back. Look at Miguel cotto he always has his hands up and he can stand in front of you and you still can't hit him.

Then I also agree with Confirm do not spar at home go to the gym.

dipsy doodle, and crash hooks to head body. One thing i tryed was just hitting not parrying just blasting their arms, they tire so quick and its hard to hold up tired arms.
