I think Haye deserves a lot of credit for that performance. He didn't just go out there and try blaze him out, he seemed to be methodically taking his time and he's definitely got Heavyweight power. I certainly don't see him beating Wlad, but I have a feeling that he can beat Vitali. That was also an exciting fight throughout, because even though Haye took the shots well it seemed, you always feel he could go. I'm not gonna use this to try degrade the brothers who don't deserve it, but that was a good fight & let's see them in with each other.
I am impressed by Haye, but I don't he ever steps in the ring with one of the Ukrainia's.
He'll say he has fight Valuev again b/c of a rematch clause
then he'll fight Hopkins or Adamek
then he will probably have putrid WBA mandatory again.
Wow, I had no idea how terrible of a boxer Haye is.
Seriously, he throws punches like a barfighting bum. He tries to keep his hands low and flashy like Ali, but he lacks the speed, accuracy and defense response. Ruiz would land punches on Haye as he tried to showboat, what a joke. I cannot see Haye beating a class fighter like Wlad or his brother. Especially if he fights like he did vs Ruiz.
Beating Ruiz is in no way claiming the right to fight either of the brothers. Beat someone like a fresh Tua then talk.
Also, those knockdowns, at least the 2 I saw were due to hitting in the back of the head, especially the one at the end of 2nd youtube video in the video link in this forum. Haye definitely catches him, maybe stuns him, but the knockdown results from being drilled in the back of the head. Getting hit there can ruin you. I dont care who you are.
Not impressed at all, Haye is definitely a b class fighter.
He might bring people excitement, but it is all hype.
If either Klitch loses to Haye I am going to pissed, there is no reason for it. It would be like Wlad being dumped by Sanders. Pathetic.
That is quite strong, but I kind of agree with you. I thought Haye looked impressive but it was such an old and pointless Ruiz and you are right in that he looked quite sloppy in places. Haye has that nasty habit of clubbing to the back of the head too. I don't know what the ref was doing after that second KD. He shouldn't have been counting. Utter nonsense.
Haye looked good, but I really feel that he is far too loose and makes too many mistakes to beat one of the Klits. I've a feeling we might be seeing the route suggested by Lance above. We won't see Haye in with a Klit in a hurry.
Blimey!! All that written aften Haye WON!!
He beat the man in front of him quite convincingly by all accounts!!
Haye plans his fights and adapts. He will NOT fight either Klitcho like he fought last night. Just as he didn't when he beat the the giant Russian.
Credit where credit is due!
Well done David Haye!
This signiture is up as ante in a 'sig-bet'. Wanna bet anyone?
well done to Haye , i didnt think he was that good at hw , im not getting to carried away , but was a good win anyhow.
read this forum for years, finally been forced into posting to have my say!
for some reason on here any english fighter is lucky/fighting bums etc, what more could haye do? outclassed him and sorry to burst all your little bubbles but the truth is if he lands on wlad or vitali they are going down![]()
unsure why there is so much bitterness towards the brits! although if we had fat(fast) eddie as our number 1 heavywieght we would be upset too
well done david, yet more doubters eating their words
Its was kinda funny how the commentators Ian Darke And Jim Watt , went on and on about Haye , i actually picked Ruiz to out tough Haye , but lets face it , this was a 38 year old former champ.
Lets just take it as a good win for Haye , nothing more , i think Haye is exciting , in fact thats the most exciting fight Ruiz has ever been in.
All in all if Haye ever fights the brothers grim , then at least it will make people sit up and watch , and that my friends is what boxing is all about , like him or loath him David Haye is exciting.
Fixed.
Haye would have already fought wlad if he hadn't got injured. Haye has done nothing to show any signs of cowardice. Remember This is boxing. It's a tactical thing. Anyone who doesn't think that last night's performance was a masterclass in how to control a fight off the back foot has never stepped into a ring before.
I was pretty impressed by Haye last night. My take on it RE the Klitschos is a bit of a contradiction though. In some respects I think I'm sure now that his speed and power could trouble either, but at the same time I am pretty certain now that he will get flattened by either. Basically I think his performance last night improved my opinion of his chances against them, but at the same time I think now I'm even more sure that they will KO him. That makes no sense. I think I'll go back to bed.

Still not convinced. Yes physically he is in a league of his own. He is indeed the hardest punching heavyweight that im convinced of.
But his alround game is far from perfect and if john ruiz can find his way through his guard as often as he did then the klitschko will have a field day if they ever get in the ring with him
Agree completely however with hornfinger. If haye was a yank there`d be a queue of americans on here now singing his praises through the roof
one dangerous horrible bloke
