Most boxing gyms don't take on staff like that to be honest, I think you would normally either go self employed and ask them if you could some cards/a poster in the changing room/what ever or seak employment somewhere like a large gym/health club were they are likely to have a permanent position.

Most clubs don't have a lot of money, they're not gonna bring in staff they don't use all the time, so it becomes more of a case of working with them, rather than for them. Finish your training then just get your name known with clubs... share kids get nothing

I'm currently pestering gyms to put my throw an apprenticeship with this training company in gateshead.

Why don't you start your own practice first? You could do in home massage, very minimal cost and you could make business cards and pass them out at gyms, and specialize as a massuese for boxers. After you get a good client base, see if you can spend a day a week in a gym and discuss a rental fee for a spot in the gym then charge per person that comes to you, that way you would be with your target audience and the gym owner could say they offer another service, if that doesn't work out you've only lost one day a week and can continue doing other things. Give it a about a month or so before your see how it will do..
    Hope this helps

They're not likely to let some one who hasn't served the time loose on their lads

You may be good but if they don't have confidence in you and you have no peices of paper/references/experience you can talk about etc they're not gonna risk hurting your feelings over one of their lad's getting their achille/hamstring snapped... not saying that's what would happen but its a case of risk vs reward...

Serve your time, get some experience doing what ever you can and then focus on where specificly you want to work in.

no probs, if you see an opportunity to get some experience some where then just go for it... paid of not the bigger your CV is the further you can go.
