Yeah I'm in two minds about this also. On the one hand I think it's a cheek of Floyd to not pay them so that Shane can't win the title.

On the other hand I think it would be great for boxing if every fighter just refused to pay and got rid of all the belt organisations.

We could just create one organisation, a conglomerate of all within boxing to issue a single belt per weight class and fuck the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO right off.

But im pretty sure Mosely is the WBA champ, isnt that what he won off margarito?

This is good news (as most have said). The fight doesn't need a shitty alphabet.

It's especially good news for Mosley. By showing his loyalty to the WBA he will get an immediate shot at the vacant title or "real" title, so basically can't lose it even if he loses.

They probably worked all this out with Floyd beforehand.

Sanctioning fees can be up to 4% of the purse if I remember correctly. I would guess at least a couple of percent for a fight like this. Up to 4% of a twenty or thirty million dollar purse isn't a bad night's work for the WBA. I don't know why Mosley is paying it either. I'm going to stop now before I get into a rant about sanctioning bodies. What the fuck are RICO laws for if not for cunts like these people?

Why would you pay them? Remember when Baldomir fought for the title when Zab had 3 belts, he only paid one and it was a 6 digit sum. What is the point of the belts? It's almost like they're made out to be a necessary evil when they're not.
