Enough said..... Although, I have to say more... The emphasis on people being rewarded for this shit ruins what must be a fantastic sport considering how many people love it...

But when people dive to the ground like they have been shot because they got touched, it's fucking laughable.. From grown, adult, professional athletes... And the even worse thing is people who love this sport or so f'n brainwashed, that 3/4 of the comments under that video are people supporting the guy saying "There was contact, he was touched" when the video shows maybe their feet were near each other.. And even if they did graze each other, diving to the ground in agony, flopping around like a flounder that has been shot, is a fucken disgrace... SHAME SHAME SHAME!!

Just cannot respect a game where this is left to fester... Any such bullshit acting like this, or the examples in the below video, the player should be suspended for 6 months from the game, and repeat offenders out for life...

(The headbutt in the last 20 seconds of this video is honestly the poorest excuse of something that I have ever seen happen in the sporting arena, and that even takes into account events like Margarito's gloves.... Absolutely shameful)

When is it ever going to be cracked down on and stamped out... Even a video tribunal that watching post match video and bans players from there... Sure the ref might get it wrong due to the speed of play and only getting a glimpse at it.. But when you can replay it and see players going to ground like their entire shin has spontanously shattered, purely because there was a player 20 inches away from them and it would benifit them to try to get a penalty out of it,,,, sorry it's a total f'n disgrace... SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!

The other horrible part of it is, there are going to be people here who will feel immediately compelled to defend this shit because they love football so much.. And it's sad that it comes to that...

There is just no possible defense for what pathetic excuse for athletes, men and human beings these guys are....

Although, I do have respect for the people who say that they absolutely love the game, but this aspect of it makes them sick..... At least they are not totally blind and still have some self respect and integrity for themselves.... It's the ones blind to this and jump to defend it that only add to what is an awful problem..

Although i dont dispute what your moaning about it as it is incredibly annoying im pretty sure every single sport right down the line has its faults.

football is considered a game played by fairys that fall to the ground at 1st opportunity
rugby is considered an oaths game that requires little or no talent
cricket is called boring because of the time it lasts for, you can go 5days and still only get a draw
american football is womens rugby with too much padding and a game takes up to 4 hours
    baseball is girls rounders essentially

    etc etc etc

Until the world embraces the only true world game then we are all stuck with this second rate sports, the world game being the mighty.......................KHABADI

The thing is, diving has been going on since football began, it's only now we can see it from a thousand angles and know it was a dive.

This has to be the worst dive I have ever seen, there is a better quality vid somewhere, but you'll still get the badness in this one.

The funny thing is that the penalty was given!

Nothing to do with diving, but thought this clip was hillarious!

    ha, that is funny.

I agree, the diving in soccer is RIDICULOUS. I mean flat out ridiculous, and why does everyone always grab their ankle? Pussies, honestly that's what I think. I think the same of basketball players who flop all the time, strangely it's mostly Europeans who are the worst offenders in basketball.

Basketball's just as annoying to me if not more so. I'm not sure soccer has anything on Derek Fisher and Kurt Thomas. The really bad part is the feigned injuries. But you've just gotta realize that some countries are much worse than others. If, for example, Portugal or Italy are playing then get ready for the estrogen to start flying.

Yea those two are bad, especially Fisher that FUCKER I'll never forget his epic game ending flop that cost the Warriors a critical late season game, a GREAT game that ended terribly when Fisher pulled Monte Ellis into him and then fell down on an inbound.

Luis Scola, Manu Ginobli, Raja Bell and Anderson Varajeo are all terrible, terrible floppers.

Yes I hate diving, played football the other day put a slide tackle and the other team were all going to beat me up , even though I got the ball and the opponent admitting as much. It is spreading to the crap level that i play and they are all a bunch of soft women.

I think diving is pretty entertaining. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

This is why I don't watch football these days, it's a joke. They should use video replay and if someone blatently dives on his face, put it on a big screen for the fans to see. That will stop the cheating bastards.

I only watch the World Cup and the Euro's these days.

I've never enjoyed it. There have been times when I wanted to "get into" soccer but it bores me. Bowling, Golf, Soccer, they're all the same to me.

I think it's because I've always been a spectator and never an active player.

When I think of soccer I am reminded of the time I watched a game for hours and saw it end in a score of 1-0.

The pads make for harder hits. NFL players become human cannonballs with the pads on. When the pads come off it's human nature to let up on the gas.
