Default Pavlik staying at 160 looking to fight JC jr?

That's the rumor I've read on another website, if its true then I guess that's ok but I am leaning towards believing that Kelly's days at the top of ANY weight class are over if he #1 fights JC Jr or #2 Is beaten by JC Jr

We all know how protected Jr is and we all hear rumors about how messed up Pavlik is...if JC is willing to fight Kelly it means Roach and JC's management think Kelly is through.

I think he is done a 160 too. I seen him at boardwalk hall and he just didn't look right at all. Very sluggish and had a helluva a time pulling the trigger. I think he should move up in weight probably to light heavyweight. He is naturally walking around at 190 and is getting older. So to me the easier thing to do is shed less weight and just work on the strength's in what got him here. Instead of fighting the scale everyday.

I heard about this too. Pavlik's manager is saying that he is going to work with a nutritionist to get to 160lbs safely, and that he is very excited about the fight. I think he may have realised there are not many options in going up in weight. He wouldn't have many at fights at 168 with everyone at the top being in the SS, and no way he gets a shot with Bute after the loss he just took. Same senario at 175, so i can see why this fight makes sense. If he loses though, i'm sure he's done.

Think what we will of pavlik, but i belive this is where jc fighting too many bums in a row is going to hurt him. Insted of graduly moving up and risking having to take a loss, they've fed him sparring partners and reguardless of pavliks previous outings he is no sparring partner. I see this a chavez going from fighting D nad C level fighters to all of sudden thinking he can beat one of the top guys because he beat duddy ??!! I say pavlik beats him

JC Jr's management team wouldn't put him in with someone they think is a threat, I think that's blatantly obvious looking at his record.

I think Pavlik could have achieved something at 168 or 175...but he wouldn't be "The Man" of either division.

Pavlik fights that draw my intrest: Tavoris Cloud, Glen Johnson, Abraham, Ward, Froch, Kessler, Paul Williams, Chad Dawson, Kermit Cintron, and even Margarito...but I'd rather just see Toni beat up without getting paid

A weight-drained, possibly legitimately shot, and drunk Pavlik beats Chavez Jr.

I liked what I saw from Chavez Jr. in his last fight, but there is a fucking chasm of skill difference between John Duddy and Kelly Pavlik, and unless Chavez' defense is much improved I don't think he can beat Pavlik.

Be that as it may Roach is now training Chavez Jr and although he had his fair share of shaky moments vs Duddy I think he is progressing enough to top a faded weight drained coming off some brutal losses vs BOXERS.

This is a weird match-up. Chavez Jr. is no Sergio Martinez or Bernard Hopkins. The two people to beat Pavlik. If Pavlik's loss to Sergio was due to being drained for the fight and his people believe that with a proper nutrionist, he would be fine at 160 at least against Chavez Jr, so be it. I guess from Pavlik's standpoint, Chavez Jr. is a big pay day, if he's going down the hill, then at least get paid a lot doing it. If he's not going down the hill, he makes a lot of money on a comeback fight and then challenges Sergio. From Chavez's standpoint, it's a big name to have on his resume if he wins and the win probably opens up a lot of doors, and if he loses, he lost to a top dog in the division, not too bad a loss.

I think this would be a very entertaining fight, I hope it happens. JCC Jr. fought bums to make up for a lack of amatuer background, now those fights should not have been PPV, but I digress. Both guys punch very hard so what's not to like?
