As much as the fight would stink, I was actually looking forward to Vitali vs Valuev. It intrigued me.

This is just gonna be man vs punch bag. The guy might have one big shot in him, but I don't think he'll ever get close enough to use it. He'll be jabbed followed by straight all night and within 6 rounds they'll break him down and just break him in general.

I agree with ICB, but I know this is right. He needed an opponent and had to find one. Briggs has some recognition anyway.

I'm kinda starting to want to see what Oceanliner Solis could do...

I'll say this about the Briggs/Klitschko fight. For about 3 rounds I will be in a state of panic over whether or not Shannon can fire a hail mary upstairs and connect. I can't say the same about any other heavyweight in boxing bothering Vitali with any dynamite in their gloves.

Shannon's past it, and should get creamed around rounds 6-8, but that guy can throw a punch when he shows up to fight. 45 kos in 51 fights is nasty any way you slice it.

    Be-fucking-have lyle.

Let's call it what it is. Vitali Klitscho taking on another fat american whos shot at glory was frigging years ago. And even at his peak he wasn't that good.

Yeah if briggs lands a lucky one and gets a KO haye etc maybe haye will regret not selling his soul to fit the klit.

but as it stands this is just another easy fight against a guy who hasn't even earned it.

Just because of shit like this makes me feel that it's ok for haye to fight audley.

    Whats good for the goose.....

This should be a great fight !!! Hell if briggs can beat rob calloway, dominique alexander, rafeal pedro, and marcus mcgee then vitali should be no problem. The best fighting the best is what i always say. man i hope it's on ppv, i'll probably even leave a tip. Hell after this fight i really think a rematch with dicky ryan would really prove who the best heavyweight is out there.

....So you're saying it's just like he's taking on a dangerous version of John Ruiz?

no I'm saying if vitali and wladmir aren't going to take on any serious opposition I don't see why Haye should.

Because the Klitschko brothers have established themselves as the dominant heavyweights since Lennox Lewis retired. They've been willing to fight all comes and have actively sought out the best and most demanded opponents (including Haye) of what is admittedly a putrid division. They haven't run their mouths about breathing new life into the Heavyweight division and all that bullshit, nor have they talked shit about fighting certain individuals only to overtly duck them on two separate occasions . Haye has barely established himself as a legitimate heavyweight, but his talk has already been demonstrated to be utter bullshit and he has zero credibility. He ran his mouth in order to make himself money and is now taking the easiest route possible, which is fine I guess, but he's got zero credibility, his big mouth has been completely shut ever since Klitschko offered him an incredibly fair deal, and even most of his "fans" have begun turning against him.

The difference between the Klitschko's and Haye is, in a word, credibility.

Your allowed your opinion. i don't have to agree with it though.....

maybe they will fight all comers, but the standard of what they're both fighting at the moment I would discribe as piss poor at best.

By all accounts they tried to set up fights with at least three fighters other than Peter and Briggs, all of whom avoided them. Haye - because he is a no-credibility shit-talker who appears to only be in the game to make as much money as easily as possible; Povetkin - because his own trainer didn't think he had a chance; and Valuev - because he demanded too much money (or so I have read).

Who else should they have fought? Even Briggs and Peter are better than Audley Harrison.

Exactly. The Klits' choices are fight the likes of Briggs and Peter, or not fight at all. The other big name Heavies, including Haye, are the reason for that, because of the choices they made.

well if they want a fight with haye they need to stop writing shit loads of silly clauses into the contract.
