    Are you writing a report?

This could be an endless topic.

I think the question is not how their careers would have gone but how they would have been remembered/rated by fight fans and the general public. Ali's career hardly went from strength to strength after he won the thriller in manila anyway. He was pretty shot after, many people thought he should never have fought again.

Perhaps Joe would not be living in his Gym right now if he had won

Both needlessly carried on and sustained further damage. People say if Eddie had not given up, Ali may have.

Frazier won the one that counted and was a great boxer in his own right.

Ali was so great he was not defined by that fight a lone.

Both Ali and Frazier should have retired immediately after this fight, Ali was never the same again, that loss to Spinks was just so sad and by the end even sadder. Frazier was pulverised by Foreman again and really they both went on far too long.
Joe can hardly string two words together and we all know Ali's condition. We got 3 great fights from them, circumstances prevented us seeing them fight in 1968/69 when it really should have happened, i wonder how that would have gone down?

Ali wins, and there would not have been a trilogy.

I think so too, maybe they would both be in better condition now if that had of been the case? We probably would have got two fights, i wonder if it was talked about before Ali's exile?

I still think they would have gone on too long, it was in their nature.
