And please don't misunderstand me,I like Floyd Mayweather ALOT,he is without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most artistic boxers I have ever seen and I love love watching his career on DVD,I just feel he needs to increase the level of his competition and Tony Margarito is a step in the right direction.
The 2 best@WW going to war, what more could 1 ask for??I do agree that Tony maybe needs to beat a few more fighters but the money is there for Floyd and the fight is so easy to make so why not do it?

as the BIGGEST floyd fan there is (ive met him a few times here in lv) please understand that i may be a little biased.

im gonna step outta the box for a minute..........

i think floyd is hoping that shane wins this next fight
    bigger name
    probably more money
    more glory
if shane loses his next fight (i like vargas and hope he wins) and floyd does pull some bs and fights some nobody for LESS money, i will question the pride of las vegas myself, along with other boxing fans

i may even admit that hes ducking margarito
but FIRST we gotta see who he fights next
tony is a high risk/low reward fight(a much bigger threat than somebody like hatton who might get floyd more money and "glory" imo)

    think back for a minute..........
    remember vivian harris?
this guy had me wondering myself if floyd was ducking him...
then he fought maussa on an undercard of a floyd fight (i think gatti, but im not sure) and lost his ass

harris had a legitamate arguement (as does margarito) prior to the fight with maussa, and a lot of boxing gurus thought he was ducking

floyd said that he had no buisness fighting vivian cuz vivian wasnt on that level
    the critics scoffed
we all know what happened to harris

    my point is this...........
it all depends on who floyd fights next (give him credit for calling out oscar at 154)
if its less money, and a weak fighter, than you may be right

Margarito is as close to Wrights level as Tarver is to Hopkins level. Margarito would be thoroughly beaten and battered. And its more risk Wright wanting to fight Joe Calzaghe

Which makes Winky's decision to turn down $4mill(which would be more than he got for a JC fight)stupid!! I'd take the easy payday and then risk it against JC!

Cool, how you meet him?> What is he like? True true and I am coming around to that point of view ie that Floyd is waiting for the Vargas Mosley outcome but I disagree, unless he beats Mosley@147,I don't think he will get that much credit simply because Mosley does not look impressive@154,especially in his last outing against Vargas. Also, the fight may make more money but no way in hell will Mosley let him take the lion's share of the purse,it would be an equal split imo so I doubt he would make $8mill(Tony would get MAX $1MILL!!)
And Tony will be earning Floyd $8mil,I don't think that is low reward anymore.

It isn't stupid. It's a champion's heart. If you think Mayweather should fight Margarito with more risk then fight The Golden Boy for more money. Then you should be behind Wright wanting a challenge instead of easy money. Thats a champion mentality that isn't about the money and something more boxers should do. Take the hard fight for less money then the easy fight for more is a better choice once you think about it

No,I want Oscar to fight Floyd but right now, that is going to happen until May 2007?!?!So Floyd should fight Tony in the meantime and Winky is a great great champion,my P4P number 1 but the reason he did not take the Margarito fight was based on $$$. He was offended that PBF was offered $8mill and he was only offered $4mill. Of course I respect him for wanting to fight JC but I don't think it's the right move,I mean he just about handled JT@160,JC@168 would be a totally different proposition!! Kudos to him if he does take the fight though.
Your last sentence was excellent,I wish more fighters(PBF ahem!)applied it! Cool Click.

PBF applies to it but only when he has no other choice.

i used to work in a sports shop at caesars palace forum shops (called sports logo, closed now), one of the most upscale malls in vegas and floyd and his boys would come in every so often. years back floyd was as abrasive loud as you could ever imagine
    extremely obnoxious
but as soon as he started getting recognized for being the great fighter that he is, hes much more laid back and not so loud
(it was so bad you could actually hear his posse coming from 100 feet away)
but hes getting his well deserved recognition finally and he carries himself with dignity now
i havent seen him since mid-last year, though but i know he always goes to the nightclub opm there

sort of, i'd always say "whats up" but store policy was that you couldnt really talk to/bug the celebs
and the manager was the only person who would deal with him cuz he was the only one who could give "the floyd mayweather discount"
