I still give Joe no respect...He is still a champion who won't leave a lackluster division....His greatest win is over Jeff Lacey who really has nothing more than power in his resume as a fighter...Before the Lacey fight no one cared about Joe......To be remembered as a great fighter you have to have great fights and so far Joe has had none...Even a win over Johnson will not make him an all time great

True true, but I would prefer to see a Winky-JT rematch first. However,a Winky fight would be good for JC'S legacy.Originally Posted by wacko3205

Who do you recommend he beats? Erm kessler maybe, or Taylor or Johnson
He would beat them all, and you would only ask for him to fight better competition...get real!
I'd rather see Taylor Wright II also...Originally Posted by The Game

He can't do more than beat whoever's put in front of him, and so far he's done that with aplomb. If the fights with the american fighters don't come off, and they won't take him on, then that's that. Who knows what goes on in the negotiations between Warren and the US promoters? I do have high hopes for these last three fights though!!!Originally Posted by DaxxKahn

You either don't follow 168 or you just haven't seen many of Calzaghe's fights.
Statements like this just blow my mind.
To be remembered for a great fighter you have to fight high caliber opponents (which he has) & you have to dominate your division & win convincingly (which he has).
Calzaghe has done the very thing that he intended to do...win & make a name for himself.
He's defeated plenty of game fighters & champions, all the while pretty much humiliating them in the process.

I dont know about the two of them Retiring off of that purse unless the fight happens in JC's back yard...Calzaghe is not known or popular in the US and even though Winky is american and a master Craftsman he stills dosent get his proper respect here in the US, so a US fight would be crumbs for those twoOriginally Posted by 2nd president of USA

to out nd out say he would 'definatley' beat him is just freaking crazy... if you said you believe he would beat him for such and such reason then i would respect that.. but to give calzaghe no chance at all, well thats just silly.
Prolly the first time i have ever dissagreed with a apost you made.Originally Posted by Lyle

I don't think calzaghe would 'punish' taylor the way he did to lacy, but i think he would beat him just as easy. IMO taylor has alot of talent, is a very well schoold boxer, however.. i see him for one to be very lazy in the ring. He let winky for a vast part of their fight, call the shots an d fight the fight he wanted. He does that to calzaghe he will get his ass handed to him.
Winky didn't have the power to hurt taylor, hopkins didn't have the hunger to beat taylor the way calzaghe could and i wud bet will...
Calzaghe has a superb jab, and a fight with taylor will show that, he will pick him off, and his hand speed, his non stop work rate will see taylor get pulled out fo there. I like taylor alot and i think he would do everything he can to go 12 rounds with joe, it will either be a knock out, the ref or his corner that will stop that fight.
Im sorry, but i think taylor is to lazy, he will be out jabbed, out worked - and i know this may sound a little rash, but if calzaghe trained and focused for the fight the way he did agasint lacy, i honestly can't see taylor picking up a round. Taylor seems to like to go a few rounds to work out his aponent before he really goes at it, and he stands off joe for so much as two rounds, he will not get into that fight at all.
The only hope taylor will have is joes hands going out on him, other than that i give him very little chance of winning a round, let alone the fight.
Taylor fans,f eel free to sad lcik me all you want (wacko behave!) but adleast give us a reason why u did so, not just for the fact i ruled your boy out:P

Perhaps the quoting is just to remphasise the point made by wacko and that he believes it was expressed so well that he couldn't say it better himself, and so left it to the original words.Originally Posted by DaxxKahn
Yah, and monkeys my fly outta my butt.
i like the way calzaghe fights and i think he will beat taylor and winky calzaghes combos are super fast and hes got super workrate to keep it going for 12 rounds i think hes top 10 supermiddleweight and to be honest i dont see anyone beating him at the moment.
