Default So any US guys care to give us their verdict ??

Out tomorrow here - am getting it whatever but seen a few reviews online. Seems there's a lot to like but a few niggles.

One thing I noticed in the demo was the cartoonish sounds for punches landing and this has been mentioned in just about all the reviews I have read.

Also don't seem to have seen anyone fighting tactically and it seems to be fast and furious - I like this don't get me wrong but a lot of boxing is staying away and flicking the jab which I also like.

Any guys already playing it ?? (not demo)

    Sorry buddy! Here's my review:

I haven't fully scaled the entire game just yet but from what I've been doing, the game is pretty solid! Of course when I first brought it home I played some regular matches against the computer right off the bat.

The controls and gameplay are slightly different from the last game. Blocking is now just one button. Tapping the button when your opponent's punch is going to land parries the punch and holding it down just blocks regularly. The weaving system is exactly the same. There are no more haymakers, just a strong punch modifier. There's really no point to throwing the strong punches unless you are in desperation mode. Punches are now, by default, able to be thrown two ways: with the right analog stick and the regular buttons. The analog punching has been tweaked a little bit no longer needing circular motions to throw certain punches. They are now all simple directions. If you plan on using the buttons, a 4-punch combo is about as complex as you can get. By the fifth punch the game struggles to pick it up. If you're a stick and move type of boxer, buttons are for you. If you're a toe-to-toe or volume puncher, use the analog cause you can throw sick combos with it.

I'm actually a little skeptical about the blocking system because I can see it really affecting online play. A punch gets through a block here and there but someone just covering up the whole fight can make a really boring fight. Fights are no longer out of reach. You can be losing a bout but the strong punch modifier can knock people down or even out if you land it in a perfect moment.

I haven't tried Legacy Mode yet but I hear from reviews that it's deeper meaning there's more decisions that have to be made throughout the mode. I'll get to it soon enough.

Champion mode is SERIOUS! You basically play as Andre Bishop, a made up boxer and go through his boxing career in cinematic fashion. You'll encounter different obstacles real life boxers go through but I will say no more cause I personally think this was the perfect addition to the Fight Night series and it was done REALLY REALLY well. I honestly started playing this mode and did not stop cause I wanted to see what happened next.

Hope this helps. I guess I'll update this once I get through all the game modes.
