It makes perfect sense.
Basically Big Gay Alis saying, that Naz did have talent, but he wasted his talented years fighting has-beens and overmatched fighters. He fought some good fighters, but by the time he faced MAB, he had transformed into a less effective fighter. His discipline was no longer there and he increasingly looked for the one big punch to end the fight.
A more youthful and disciplined Naz would have presented MAB with different problems. He might not have beaten him, but he would probably have been more competitive.
