Those "lawyers" are really ONLY there just to keep the court moving along in a smooth manner... Taking care of the formalities etc.. Speaking for you so that they don't have every second deadbeat coming in and representing themselves, having no idea what to say or when to say it...
As far as having your best interests in mind and actually working to achieve something for you, they would not consider those things in their job description...
Total sellout really for people who had the ambition at one stage to get into law...

Sadly I too learned this too late for it to be any use to me... Got my own lawyer a time after that, but that probably cost me more than what my fine or punishment would have equaled... Still having a big show lawyer walking in with you kinda makes you feel cool...
