I had Morales winning a close fight. I wouldn't say robbery though! It was nice to see the old boy holding his own in a fight I thought he was going to get destroyed in!

Maidana imo is really not that good a fighter . All his hype stems off khans people wanting everyone to believe he decent , and that he stopped Ortiz who is still a semi prospect his damn self . Ortiz quitting was a fault in Ortiz not this so called greatness of maidana . Hell dude was getting bombed on and bouncing up and down off the canvas in that fight really. If maidana catches you kinda like edison Miranda then it's problems . But other than that he's pretty average in some areas below that. E morales gave you problems ??!!!! Not good

As one of the commentators could not stop saying, Maidana was 'old mann'ed'. Quite embarrassing for him, really, with Erik way past his prime and having come out of retirement and fought a few nobodies, he steps up to the guy most people recognise as the #1 contender in their weight class, and gives him a boxing lesson. Prepared or not, an impressive display from Morales, who deserved a draw at the very least. The man landed the (much) better shots and made Maidana look like an amateur with the use of only ONE eye for roughly 90% of the fight. Feel bad for Erik, but it's not the first time, and nor will it be the last, that ineffective aggression is preferred over boxing skill.

Your posts get more and more pathetic.

BEFORE Maidana fought Khan he was top ranked at 140 because he had ALREADY destroyed Ortiz, lost a razor close decision to WBA champ Kotelnik and had a 90 odd % KO ratio. Khan's people didn't need to hype him, he was already PROVEN and starring on HBO.

A legend like Eric Morales giving a crude slugger problems is not good? What a disgrace to Morales. Deary deary me...

i love battlers who pile in and try and overwhelm their opponents with punches and id much rather watch a fight like that than someone who stands off and avoids getting hit as much as poss and just throws when he knows he will land

at the same time it bugs me when fighters get results just for throwing more punches

i havent seen the fight yet, hopefully ill get a chance tonight, but from reading your post i reckon i will favour morales too

People are way overrating Morale's shotness. He only ever got blown out by Manny, same as David Diaz, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Joshua Clottey, Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito. He's only 34, hardly an old man, and although he's for sure been in some wars, it's probably not that many more than JM Marquez, and he's been fairly well rested the last couple years and is not starving himself to make weight.

I think he showed that he's still got more to offer than we thought. Let's credit Morales with doing better than expected, rather than drag down the entire 140 lb division to beig crap.

I haven't seen the fight, but I've seen a lot of different scorecards, which leads me to believe that it was a close fight in which many rounds could have gone either way.

I had Maidana winning rounds 1,2,11,and 12 solid and Morales winning rounds 4,5,6,8,and 10. Toss ups were 3, 7 and 9 mostly but I leaned toward Maidana only because of his aggressive--ness and I didn't want to give them to him.

It was tough to score because I thought Maidana was too wild missing a lot and Morales was spot on, but Maidana had a lot more output and thought for sure the judges would give it to him. And there is the fact I wanted Morales to win.
