On a more realistic note, I think some of the journeymen that are on the circuit are very good at avoiding stoppages, but I'm not sure if that makes them fighters with great chins though.

I've been impressed with the chin of Margarito, as he does tend to ship a lot of shots, and Cotto too.

Thinking back to early vids I've seen of Joe Calzaghe, I remember one american dude getting stopped for not throwing anything back, even though he was coherent and taking the piss out of Calzaghe's punching at the time. That was a pretty good chin too.
I watched the Maidana fight again yesterday and that shot he took flush in the 10th has convinced me that his chin aint that bad now he is not tight at the weight.

Carl Froch has an iron chin! Walks straight through punches and throws more back. I think he's been down once in his career against Taylor I think?

It's not seen as his best ability, but is definatley up there for his strong assets as a champion. Some shots he has taken have been pure power and he doesn't even look fazed.

I didn't read the first post i just read the topic, i never really see Marlon Starling take a great shot because he always had the ear muffs on. The only one was where he got KO'ed after the bell and he was flat out there

you dont go the distance with a prime don curry twice and not take a shot or two.

    Talent AND chin?

Azumah Nelson. I know Leija dropped him in 2nd fight () but aside from that I think he held up well

I was being sarcastic there, im actually watching some of his fights now that i haven't seen. And he never seems to hardly take a flush shot, not only because of his defense. He's got great timing to roll with punches, i think his problem was that he was often lazy that cost him vs Donald Curry.

Yes a bit lazy and lacked real top power, but he was a top fighter.
