There's a good chance Mares simply trashes the IBF belt (always conduct I applaud).

That thought crossed my mind but if he does that he loses all cred in my book. After-all he should be the one asking for the rematch.

Why? Strange things happen in boxing all the time. Fighters shouldn't try to fix them.

As for me, a fighter NEVER loses cred trashing an alphabet belt.

Of course I'd like to see the two of them again, but if Mares is offerred a fight against say Nonito Donaire I am not going to trash him for taking it.

He would in this case based on the circumstances. I doubt he goes for Donaire. Espinoza wont allow that at this point regardless of what GBP has to say. He'd be eaten alive.
