Got tired of people worshipping the ground he walked on. Found him to be a fake, enamoured of his own image, shamelessly looking for smaller fighters to beat up on to "build his legacy", even more shamelessly promoted by the major networks who were desperate to find the next all-American boxing icon (and he happened to have cross-cultural appeal, so much the better).

Eventually, the fakeness came through, and his strategy backfired. He got his ass whupped by the smaller Pacquaio, quit on his stool, and whimpered into the sunset.

Oh well...

Hoya was old and drained against Pacman. He was nothing more than a walking Zombie so that loss doesn't count.

I loved it when he schooled the shit out of Tito though, making him look so foolish.. That's my favorite Hoya moment..
