Campillo was super impressive and was robbed. One positive thing to take away from the fight was that the crowd was behind Campillo and booed the decision. Certainly, Campillo earned himself another big fight.
Thats what I was telling myself. Showtime will take care of this guy and get him another big fight. He earned it. Still, he deserved the WIN, not a consolation prize.
Hopefully. Although it seems what tends to happen in these situations is that everyone avoids him, with the excuse that they don't have to fight him because he hasn't won any of his last three fights. Like, when are we going to see Kirkland or Williams or Alvarez or Cotto, etc. in with Lara at 154?

Maybe it will be different with Capillo though. The guys who get jobbed like this are usually awkward technical/defensive-minded counterpunchers. Whereas Capillo has a very crowd-pleasing offensive style. It's so nice to watch a guy who actually throws combinations (and lands).
That's a very apt comment. A lot of judges seem biased against southpaws: a lot of judges don't like counter punches and a lot of southpaws are counter punchers. If you are a defensive southpaw that likes to counter punch, you better stop the guy.
Campillo was nice with it. It looked like he had a lot of technique. He did a great job anticipating Cloud. He made very smooth offense to defense transitions.
