As you might recall (the ones that read my introduction-topic a little while ago) i'm training for my first official fight on the 16th of september. Done two demo-fights so far and won both, but my opponents were pretty weak and couldn't really hit hard. And at the sparring sessions back then, i wasn't really put to the test, seeing the short time i've been taking up boxing (now almost two years, in which i could'nt train for 5 months because of breaking my right foot two times in a row).

So my trainers took the pase up a bit now, and because i was doing rather well, they decided i could spar with three experienced male fighters (two pro's and one with a long amateur record).... Well, there's an experience! The trainers wanted to see if I could also take a punch as well as giving it. The other females at our gym don't hit that hard. That is, i hardly feel what their throwing at me. I have a real hard punch, especially my right hook and left uppercut impress even most of the guys. But yesterday I got a taste of what could happen if i had to take what i give.....

So there you have it: it did'nt go that bad, the guys where a bit carefull ofcourse, and gave me a change to fight (i mean, they can easaly take me ) Sometimes i got a bit of a hard blow to the head or belly, harder than i was used to, but it was allright. Thank you, trained abs! when it happend:

Sparring with Havid, i took a step to my right, saw the hook coming, but though it was a high one, so I lifted my right hand to block it.... but it came low, right and full on the liver. WOW!!! Everything went black for a moment and my body completely stopped working. I couldn't breathe, nothing! Complete shut down of all systems!!!
The trainer was talking to me: "take five, easy does it, everything allright?" I didn't respond. I turned, grabbing a robe while thinking (and strangely enough this really went through my head) "what ever happens, you turn around RIGHT now and FIGHT! It can happen in your match and you can't take five then, so you can't take five now. FIGHT!"

So I turn around, padded Havid on the shoulder and shouted: COME ON! LET'S GO! TWO MINUTES LEFT!

With suprised faces around me, we finished the round, and when the bell sounded i stood in the middle of the ring, a bit fuzzy trying to get grips of what had happend, while getting applause from the trainers and other fighters. They were really proud of me to keep on fighting, and that was a real great sensation! And worth much, because now i know I won't panic or anything if i get a real blow. We did two more rounds after that, and everything went fine. I have to admit though, that right now, sitting at my office desk....

Don't have much energy left in my body
