Refs break guys too fast now on the inside. JCC, Toney, Hagler...etc. would work the guy over with their free hand and position the guy to take more punishment. Now it is the extreme. A ref will either break the second they touch, or let the guys go full UFC like Hatton, Ruiz...etc. As a side note: I LOVED it when Toney busted Ruiz up inside when he tried the grappling tactics. That is the one fight were I saw Ruiz abandon his plan of grappling n dirty boxing.

Same with how Floyd broke Hatton down by showing his genius in the ring n slipping n countering between all of the grappling. Floyd fought a masterpiece that night.
