RIP Phillip Hughes

Very sad. His strength when given width meant a bowlers job was to bowl at his body/head. Abbott was doing his job, with tragic consequences. It is no comfort, but Hughes' injury was that rare, that has only been 100 or so known similar injuries.

.....and only ONE as the result of a Cricket ball impacting.

It's as safe as they are ever going to make it but of course that will be of little comfort to his family or the poor guy who bowled that fateful over
