I may have to watch that fight again. I don't remember a throttling. I thought it was competitive early, including a big uppercut that hurt Calzaghe a little. Then Calzaghe adjusting and Mikkel not having a plan B.

That was exactly how it went down. Kessler (along with many 'experts') thought he had Calzaghe's number. When Joe changed it up and Kessler had no answers he was mentally broken, you could see it immediately in the ring, Kessler pretty much said so himself I think.


It wasn't a shelling in the manner of Jeff Lacy but it was a career damaging one.


Kessler deserves nothing but respect, class act in and out of the ring. Hope he enjoys retirement.
