Apparently since De la Hoya fight, Pacquiao has been injured. That might be why Marquez flattened him.

History would suggest that boxers and their team are not always telling the truth about what is going on behind the scenes. Maybe it's not so easy to cancel a fight if your sparring partner beats you up or you get an injury. It's a tricky one. Personally, I think you should cancel if you want, but I can see how the army around you depending on the paycheck will push you and push you to fight.
