What's up with Keith "One Time" Thurman?

I don't think you understand those words. Of course boxing is a business, but fans don't have to fall in line to be milked. If fans stop accepting being bent over they will stop being bent over so much. Tonight Thurman is fighting a man in a fight he says "I have nothing to gain" and he gets away with it because fans accept this. Oh it's business, it's business. In business if you have a shitty product it doesn't sell. But boxing fans say "well sure this is shit but I'll drink it because...." i put .... Because the excuses for these guys taking shitty fights are endless. People even argue that shitty fights like Brook/Rios aren't shitty fights even though absolutely nobody would pick Rios. Collazos momma isn't betting on Collazo, it's a shitty fight. This new generation needs to do what previous generations did and earn something. Keith Thurman is a rich man, and he is a rich man off doing nothing. Dude needs to do something.

First -- you moan and groan because you don't like a particular fight. Second -- you're denigrating fans, many of whom wont share your opinion about what makes a good fight, for "accepting" what you believe is crap, yet here you are tuning in to watch.

Well yeah. I'm a boxing fan. Of course I'm a hypocrite. I watch every fight i have the time to watch. Doesn't mean i have to defend them though. The sport is getting so fights that aren't damn near decided before the men get in the ring are more and more rare. More than quality i want to see competition. I admit with every possible bit of humility that i was wrong about the action of this fight in one round.

Once Haymon gets a monopoly things will get better. Need a UFC style organisation. THe problem in boxing is you have a couple of losses and no one will pay to see you anymore. All this having to "earn" the right to fight someone is just crap. The best should just be fighting the best. Could you imagine this in any other sport where competitors can blatantly duck other fighters?
