Groves-Di Luica/Ryder-Khomitsky/Hibbert-Martin - Saturday/Sky Sports. Fact.
Two cracking even money fights plus Groves get a confidence booster.
Apparently Groves recent "poor" form was all Paddy Fitzpatrick's fault (trainer gets the blame, who'd have known?). Di Luica has been picked to get chinned, but when? He went four rounds with Bute before jumping on the deck and looks like he quit against Rebrasse after seven. I think this will go similar to the Bute fight.
Groves rd 3 (7/1) rd 4 (6/1) rd 5 (6/1)
Sergey Khomitsky - who works for Blofeld when not boxing - is much better than his record suggests. If you're not borderline world-class he'll expose you - as Buglioni and Etches found out. He's hard as nails with a dig in either hand. The only man to stop him is GGG (surprise!!!), but even then he went out on a knee looking at his corner with a "i've had enough of getting clumped by this fucker" expression on his face.
Ryder is the 1/2 favourite. Is Ryder good enough to box on the move for 12 rounds? Probably. He was boxing well against Blackwell before surprisingly getting chinned and gave Billy Joe Saunders a close-ish fight. If it goes the distance I would expect Ryder to be in front. He's generally 6/4 to win on PTS. However, he has to make the finish line.
I'll take the Bond villain by KO at a general 5/2.
John Wayne Hibbert is coming off two cracking up-and-downers for the Commonwealth title against Dave Ryan - lost the 1st, was a bit "jammy" to win the 2nd. Being 10 years older than 21-year-old Martin he obviously has an edge in experience. He's the heavier hitter and will look to put pressure on the young fella. They have sparred hundreds of rounds - Martin thinks he has Hibberts number through that. Martin is quick and will look to box on the outside. Although not a big whacker I quite fancy the young pie and mash kid to pull off a late-ish stoppage.
Martin by stoppage at a general 3/1
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
