I can tell you this. The american word pajama is a lazy spelling of their english language word pyjama.
Of course I double checked, just wanted to make sure you were being as stupid as it seemed. I did know the word came from India, was unaware it was originally Persian. If the English copied it and changed the spelling, what's the difference if the Americans did so again?
