The US Eagles national rugby team are a very decent second tier team these days. They are there with Samoa, Tonga and the likes of Georgia which is not bad at all. I suspect they would give the Tier 1 Italians a good run for their money.

It isn't a team of foreigners either, all home grown talent. Good blokes, many of whom play their trade in Wales at the moment.

Not sure why the game isn't as big over there. Most Americans watch NFL but it's a fallacy to say that is the reason .... they are completely different games and we have so many failed attempts by players from both codes to cross over. Jus because you are good at one of them does not at all mean you would good at the other.

Anybody can qualify to play in the rugby World Cup, and the Americans have made it to a few in the past.
Well I knew US rugby used to be absolutely terrible, but perhaps it'll see a boost from the shitty way Football is going I know if i was in high school now I wouldn't even bother playing football what would be the point of it? All the fun stuff I liked to do has been banned.

In other news, America produces some good athletes and some of them find their niche
