Switch to ESPNN if you have it. I had the same problem (college football), but found the other channel.

Apparently we currently have 4 ESPN channels but no espnnews. I mean really how hard is it to at least put a live card backup plan on espnclassic ffs . I understand a lot of people are up right now wanting to re watch some random 90's NBA finals but come on.
