Especially when these guys fight once a year or so. And it generally is always the case of when the guy that was supposed to win losses. Why didn't Parker get a rematch against Whyte for instance? He had him in all sorts of trouble at the end buy lost on the cards, rightly so. Maybe there was a rematch clause they wasn't taken up, I don't know, but my mind says that's unlikely.
It'll never happen because it is kind of a safety net for a promoter to get their guy back in to make up for the loss, but they should probably only be allowed to exercise a rematch clause if the fight was a close fought contest. As in either both guys went down at some point in the fight (maybe one got the stoppage eventually but was in trouble earlier), or the case of Whyte-Pasrker above warrented a rematch or if it the fight is a close decision.
