Mayweather could switch his stance and become twice the southpaw that Collazo or Urango are.. Hatton doesn't just struggle against southpaws he struggles against talented and motivated fighters. Watch the Collazo fight again, in the post fight even Luis said it was his right hand that hurt Hatton the most.
Anyone is going to have problems with talented motivated fighters ! the only problem Hatton had with Collozo was the sheer size difference. Its hard to impose your will on a bigger stronger fighter. 147 was just to big for Ricky's style. even so and he still pulled out the win.. Urango is a southpaw, but negates that advantage by squaring up .. Should be a great fight !
Yet Mayweather didn't have problems with Baldomirs size difference.... Why was that? Because he just ran, Im sure you'll say.. Never mind the fact that he can execute a different game plan and adapt if he needs to.. Hatton can't. And if he and Urango are in a competitive fight it just takes away from Hattons status even more.. Urango is nothing he has lost decisevly to the two decent opponents he's fought.. Urango, and even moreso Arnatouis.
Your a mind reader P4P !! ... yes styles do dictate what you can and cannot do ... Mayweather style is hit and run.. now he can fight when he feels un threatened. but if he feels the heat from a bigger fighter he can stick and move... on the other hand Hatton is a come right str8 at you type fighter, who imposes his will on his opponent.. Hatton's style does not lend itself to moving up and fighting bigger guys ! how are you going to bully a bigger stronger fighter? You can't , simple mathematics . Hatton is 5'6 on his tip toes ! 140 is where he belongs ! Excellent fighter this Urango fellow... its going to be a real crowd pleasing fight !

Spot on lords Gym in your summary cc.
Hatton was not himself that night against Collazo, he admitted that himself. When you look at the amount of jabs he connected with tells a huge part of it. He landed with 5, now thats not what Ricky would normally do. IMO he fought poorly due to the pressure of his first HBO big fight, the legal wranglings in the lead up to it, and the forced jump up in weight to 147 courtesy of HBO, which inturn resulted in him having just 7 weeks to train for the welter division.
Hattons desired route, would be to unify the LWW division, fighting Catillo in the process, and then hopefully fighting Floyd back end of 2007. Thats if Floyd is still around.
