I don't want to make a complete sweeping judgement here, but generally the american based sports altogether take steroid infringements way too lightly, Baseball, NBA, UFC, NFL, the punishments are basically just saying "don't let us catch you again, its embarrasing," rather than "You cheated, we're going to punish you, then in a couple of years you can come back and make amends, cheat again and its over," which is the stance for pretty much every other sport in the world. Over here, miss a drugs test by 3 hours and you get a ban, never mind fail one.
