I know it's early still, but just got the sudden urge to wish everyone here a very merry Christmas, and a wonderful New Year.

Thinking back, I still marvel at the idea that I've been on this forum since 2005 (going on 19 years now). And some on here have been around even longer. There's absolutely nothing else on the Internet to which I've belonged for anywhere near that length of time.

One of the thoughts is obviously some of the forum members that have come and gone. Maybe to join other forums... maybe just due to life circumstances... maybe just because. I myself tried joining (and staying on) other boxing forums. But invariably I got turned off by the impersonal nature of them.

We've all had our tiffs on here. That's life... it happens even in blood families. But like in real life, we usually get over it, and things get smoothed over. We don't agree on a great many things. But again, that's life and furthermore... it's what makes the forum interesting. I love that we talk about anything and everything on other boards. Politics, world issues, other sports, etc, etc. A lot of knowledgeable, well-informed, articulate people on here. That also differentiates it from other boxing forums I've seen, where people basically grunt at each other.

So in a way it's like a family. We may not all get along perfectly... but we know each other, and for the most part respect each other. And although boxing continues to have its ups and downs, and its inevitable changes... it is still our common denominator in that we're all boxing fans. So we talk boxing, we talk other stuff, we just shoot the shit, like they say around here.

I'm always grateful to Saddo and the admins that help keep this place together. Here's hoping that Saddoboxing remains in existence for many, many more years to come. I count myself as fortunate that through the forum I made a personal friend (Lyle), and was even able to meet personally with him on one of our travels.

So again, a very Merry Christmas to all. My most sincere wishes for everyone's health, peace of mind, and prosperity. May you and your loved ones enjoy a good holiday season.

Cheers,
TitoFan

(Cue the obligatory "Who are you?" posts. It wouldn't be Saddo's without them.)
