Out of the ring for 14 months since losing on a 10th round TKO to Jeffrey Resto, Warrick was holding his own against promising junior welterweight Demetrius "The Gladiator" Hopkins for eight rounds. However, the nephew of the legendary middleweight king Bernard Hopkins, who is in town to face Antonio Carver on Saturday night in Atlantic City; turned out the lights after catching Warrick with two left jabs followed by a crushing right hand to the jaw.
Warrick was out before he hit the deck face first and referee Randy Neumann didn't even finish his count; as medical personnel rush to the aid of the defeated boxer. Warrick remained on the floor for several minutes before he was slowly allowed to sit up and then regain his feet."
