I like to classify the right hook (for us orthodox fighters) as a haymaker (and I've heard that mentioned on here before). As I am new to this boxing thing, I still am a bit sloppy when it comes to sparring. In the middle of combinations, when I have someone up on the ropes, I find myself coming in with the right "haymaker." Its definatly not a straight right, not a right uppercut, not a "looping" right, or an "overhand" right. Resembles a right hook, but not near enough to be considered a hook. It might be sloppy, but when used in the right situation when the opponant has no chance of countering, watch out, its a hard punch .
