Why isn't there a right hook? I mean, I AM left handed, if that makes any difference... but, I am new, and my definition of a hook is swing to the outside into the side of the face, but PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong.

Ahah..Then to you sir.. There is a left hook..For southpaws..
I guess the point to be breif without getting too deep into it is its extremely hard to throw an orthadox right hook at a opponent or sparring partner.. As its either in weird circumstance or not a hook..

what if ur opponent jabs and u slip to the right! that would set u up for a nice right hook to the head or u could weave right a let go a right hook to the body.....why not?

If you slipped to the inside..Which is where you slip to.. Then its likely any right hand you threw would be an overhand..Kinda bernard hopkins esque lol..
If it were a textbook right hook then your arms would get tangled up or not reach theyr head..Unless you were a fair bit taller then them.. In which case you wouldnt be slipping the jab..
I think the only real way to have it be a hook it to be stood litterally toe to toe..And even then its rather awkward i imagine.. lol

ok cool,i throw a right hook on the bag,but now that i think of it its always the last punch in the combo,never the first. Its easy to throw a right hook on a stationary bag,but like you say, in combat its an akward punch to pull off,unless you throw 1-2-3-4, straight left-straight right,left hook ,right hook,but if executed corectly your opponent is likly to be on there a$$ by the left hook...but i know what you mean,its a difficult punch to execute and feel akward cause you lead with your left foot and there for puts you off balance......

..im pretty sure tyson clocked thomas with a right hook,among the rest of the punishment he dished out....peace
