David Cadieux looks to be an up and comer!
The Canadian Amateur Champion and Commonwealth Games Silver Medalist in 2002 got off to
a shakey start with a NC due to head butt in his debut, then a loss
in his second outing didn't make his future look too promising but with
2 wins over fellow Canadian Patrice L'Heureux to make it 15 W's in a row he may have made some people take a harder look. He throws decently well with both hands and has shown an excellent left hook to the body.
At 6' 6" with a long 84" reach he seems to have the Physical tools that are needed in the new era of super heavyweights
Now 15-1 with 10 ko's he looks in good shape at around 250 or so and outworked a decently skilled L'Heureux who is around 6'5" and goes 280 or so, to win the coveted Canadian Heavyweight Championship Belt, A title formerly held by such fighters as Razor Ruddock, Trevor Berbick, and of course George Chuvalo to name a few notables
Also on the rise is Jean Francois Bergeron another tall Canadian Heavy at 6' 5", now 26-0 with 19 KO's but no real names on his Hit list to date. His most recent win is over the now infamous Ross Purity (remember him Wlad fans?) Was not a spectacular outing, he has however looked decent against a series of "opponents" who have been in with some name fighters. His progress has been steady but slow and I'm hoping to see him step up to higher level to try and improve on his WBA #14 Ranking and WBC #30 ranking. Still undefeated but at 34 he needs to make a move now!
