Eubank was past it but it was also Calzaghe's first big TEST. He passed the test with flying colours, no? And Eubank went on to be involved in two tremendous fights with Carl Thompson at Cruiser.

Veit was Calzaghe's mandatory. Veits team won the purse bids to stage the fight in Germany. Calzaghe got paid £750,000 (his biggest payday) to fight someone he previously KO'd in one round. Don't take a genius to work that one out.
