There is danger in many things that are exciting, and tht comes from the fact that there is danger in that activity. One of the things I enjoy doing is mountain biking, but I realise my limits and I (try) to stay within those. A relative of mine broke his arm in three places after a big crash, and I've had plenty of big offs myself, but at the end of the day if you love it then you will get back on. To some extent, the same could be said for boxing, it ain't exactly tickling each other with feathers is it? Motorbikes are just one of hundreds of things that people do that can be dangerous, and at the end of the day, we live for the highs in life....not for doing the washing up on a gloomy sunday afternoon.
CC good call. I still ride moutain bikes, or one anyway. I'm lucky to live in an area that has great riding. I don't ride motorbikes anymore but i did, and will again but have been riding since I was 10. I have always ridden mountain bikes - even before they were known as such, and before that BMX bikes. I box a little at the moment but have since i was 15. I have had a lot of experience and a fair bit of training at all these sports from people who are much better than me and that has kept me relatively unscathed. These sports all present a risk and have all injured me in some way because that is the nature of these kinds of sports. I dont race a drag car because i dont know how. I dont cliff dive because i dont know how. I don't surf big waves because I dont know how. But if I did know how I probably would. Because as it was said so well "Motorbikes are just one of hundreds of things that people do that can be dangerous, and at the end of the day, we live for the highs in life....not for doing the washing up on a gloomy sunday afternoon."
