Hatton has struggled in a few fights of late, especially when he fought at 147, whilst Floyd has never really been given a workout of that magnitude in trying to hang on to his '0', and he's moved up a number more divisions than Ricky.
hatton is ring #8 right now so how would a victory propel him to where he already is

mayweather struggled against castillo trying to hang on to his 'o'

it seems like you have alot of respect for mayweather...a hatton win over him wouldnt warrent atleast a concideration for #1 for hatton..
I want HAtton to go out there and beat PBF, believe me I do, but despite Castillo's ranking with the WBC and the Ring, looking at that fight and the previous one, it's hard not to just cast doubts on how much Castillo really had left. And that, for me, means Hatton is probably just outside my own, personal top 10 p4p.

However, I think the manner of victory over Mayweather would have a lot to do with whether he was to be considered p4p no1, and if Hatton destroys Mayweather, then very possible, but not if he gets the nod in a tight fight.
