We will see. I just think that he has enough left to beat the wild swinging Mayorga.

What has Mayorga proved since 2003 when he beat Forrest? He's 2 W's-3 L's gettin KO'd in 2 of the 3 losses. Neither win was by stoppage (2 dec.). Some guys carry there punch up in weight. Ricardo was obviously a big puncher @ WW. But he has not fought there for 4 years. He's not one of the guys that brought their power up with them. This fight is @162lbs. He won't be a big puncher here.

Neither guy is getting any better. But IMO as long as Vargas is not totally gone he will capitalize on the lack of fundamentals of Mayorga.
Nando has the fundamentals and that will take a fighter beyond his prime... but Vargas ain't lookin' too pretty either. If I were to pick which one is more down, out of his prime, took more beatings.... it has to be Vargas.

This is going to be a b*d*ss fight!!!
Yeah, I agree that he (Vargas) has suffered more in ring punishment.

There's alot of factor to take into consideration in this fight. That's 1 of the things (so many questions) that make it intersesting. And the fact that neither of these guys shy away from a war.
This is what happens when two of the biggest bullies finally face each other. haha Each has their own thug history, this really is "For Pride!" Here's my take, Ferocious is going to try to box, but sooner or later his roots will catch up to him and he'll go to war with Mayorga. The Nicaraguan Killer will tease Vargas in the ring. Vargas has the weaker chin. Game over.
I'm not convinced that his chin is better than Vargas's. Mosely, ODH, & Tito were the only guys to stop Vargas. Not too bad. And Mayorga's chin wasn't a rock in his last fight against ODH himself. Hit the deck in the 1st (eventhough it was a great shot). If they do start going toe-2-toe Vargas's shorter punches will get to the mark more accurately & before Mayorga's looping shots.

IMO in the first 4-6 rounds Mayorga's lack of defense & Vargas's ability to counter him will take him in deep enough water to where there will be no turning back.
