Sorry to be a prick, CMM, but Turpins' win over Robinson wasn't abroad. It was in NW London. It was still huge though....

John H Stracey's win in Mexico City over Jose Napoles was a great result. Mantequilla had only lost 3 times in his previous 55 fights stretching over 12 years (and was 79 (55)-6 overall). Two of those losses were due to cuts which he avenged and the other was against the great Carlos Monzon. In fact, Jose beat every man who beat him except for Monzon (and John H).

For Stracey to go to Mexico in those day, suffer a first round knockdown and still go on to win was a fantastic performance.

However, Jose did get cut often and was 35 at the time so I would have to rate a Hatton win higher.
