Arturo Gatti - really a B class fighter who got famous from his show of heart and got a shot at Floyd due to his ability to fill arenas

Sharmba Mitchell - He's known for giving Kostya Tszyu all he could handle......FOUR YEARS before this fight happened. More recently KT smacked him down in 3 rounds a year before he got the fight with Floyd

Zab Judah - was supposed to beat Carlos Baldomir to get the fight, lost and still got to fight Floyd anyways. That fight made no sense after he lost to Baldomir.

Carlos Baldomir - he got to fight Floyd simply for beating Zab and getting a fan base behind him due to his fight vs Zab.

Oscar De la Hoya - full time promoter, part time fighter, he still draws a big crowd but he's older and doesn't have the heart for boxing anymore but Floyd apparently wanted to fight him as opposed to fighting someone IN THEIR PRIME!!!

Go down his career, he's never unified, he's never fought the toughest champion to win a belt, and he's hardly ever fought guys in their prime WHEN HE HAS HAD AMPLE OPPORTUNITY!

Is he clucking yet?
Good Morning Mrs Klitschko

So you wanna talk Comp, please junior go back to sucking on Wlads hind tit, and let reality continue on. Who has come close to walking in Floyds shoes and has done what he has accompolished. Take that unification Bullshit and kneel on it so you can reach your boys giggleberries better. Do you even bother to prrof read the shiit you write?

Floyd has earned his spot and is now basking in the sunlight of his glory and opportunity to call the shots, sorry that dosent fit into your little dream world. You can discredit him all you want but he is the #1 PFP fighter in the world regardless of your Ether induced posts and dumb confederate redneck Ramblings

Dont you have some right wing liberal political conspiracy BS to litter the Lets get it on board
Nobody can't deny that Floyd boxing #1 P4P, but everything Lyle said is absolutely true, except maybe the clucking part. I don't think even Lyle denies that Floyd is #1 P4P, but it's naive to think Floyd hasn't carefully handpicked his oponents since moving up. That's doesn't mean that he couldn't have cleaned up a division, but he hasn't been willing to take the risk. He's been declaring himself a GOAT since before he really earned it. He has not always fought the best fighters available. Nobody can argue with Floyd's resume and accomplishments at 135 and below, but since moving up with the big-boys, he's had, shall we say nicely, a very well managed career and handpicked fights.

And I don't think he's a natural 130lb fighters. He was 20 when he turned pro and his body was still filling out naturally. His "true" weight class is probably 140, and 147 is pretty close to where he belongs, and sure he fought Oscar at 154, but is Oscar a "true" JMW? That fight was basically a natural prime jr welterweight against and past prime WW. It was as much a true JWM fight at Vargas Mayorga was a SMW fight.

One of the reasons why this fight with Hatton is so great is that's it's first prime-v-prime fight he's had in a while, against an undefeated fighter with a great resume, against a guy who is a natural sized opponent for him. One of the problems I have with Floyd is that he just might be a GOAT, but he refuses to prove it in the ring against all comers. He plays games, tries to maximize every nickle on every fight, and he's only 30. I can take that crap from an old boxer, but this guy is only 30 and he should be fighting more and against better opposition. He robbed us of 3 years of his prime. As a fan, you should be pissed off at him. Since 2002, he's had 2 meaningful fights - Judah and ODLH. Hatton will make #3, and in reality, this is his most meaningful fight since Castillo in Dec. 2002.
