I live in WV,go check a map,Im originally from Philadelphia, its an 8 hour drive minimum to visit my home town
The only three fights Bernard has had,at home ,in the last 4 years where Joppy,Tarver, and Hakkar
The Staples Center in LA is 3000 miles away from Philly,he's fought 5 times during that period in Las Vegas, over 2000 miles from Philadelphia
I guess they keep having him back because he cant draw, very good buisness sense, how do they stay open I wonder
Cardiff to London is what,a little over 100 miles, you can do that in a few hours easy, even in a Morris Miner,or a Cooper Mini,it takes longer to fly to Vegas from Philly
And again the question was asked did Ricky's fans at the Mayweather fight hurt him
Well guess what, long term, their actions did
Calzaghe 0 fights in Las Vegas, ever
Hopkins,5 since 2003
Man, this culture clash comes up time and time and time again. Most people will readily admit that the US is much, much bigger than the UK, and that fact is nowhere near being disputed.

However, because of that fact there is an immense travelling culture in the US whereas in the UK people don't tend to travel around the country so much. People can go a whole life without leaving their area more than five or six times, and although the populus is more mobile than it was 25 years ago, it is still generally a fact that most of the population in Cardiff won't travel to London except on very rare occasions.

Added to this is the exorbitant cost of transport. A return flight from Glasgow to London, only a few hundred miles can't be got for less than £150, whilst a return flight from Philly to Las Vegas starts from around £100 for the same period, so to look purely at the size of nations isn't really a comparison. The cost of fuel here at around 5 or 6 times that in the US is also a preventative factor.
People really dont travel as much as youd think here
Yeah you'll get guys traveling on buisness, and many moons ago youd get people traveling for vacation, but thats about it
It costs a fortune to travel here as well, getting a second ticket for a cornerman when I have a fight booked is like pulling teeth,Ive had promoters choke at the price of just flying a fighter to where the fight is.Usually I have any of my fighters driving 3 hours just to get to the most reasonable airport.
This country has no real national image, the British Isles have way more of one.The country is just too darned big.
Somebody from Georgia has as much in common with someone from Oregon as you have with someone from Iraq
Not to mention its a nation of immigrants,so you get all kinds of regional things based on ethnicity. A guy from Arizona may think Polish jokes are funny, but that will get your butt whipped in Western PA.
A guy in NYC expects a Knish and a Falafel to be on sale on every street corner, you cant get a real Knish anywhere in Chicago
Speaking of Illinois, those people cant cook, the most inedible meal I was ever hungry enough to pick at was in the Midway airport, when Feur was in illinois for a fight recently, she came back complaining about the food sure enough
