we must remember he said this before the mayorga fight....many of us were questioning how much oscar really had left in him. a while back i said myself i would judge him off his performance against mayorga...im sure margarito has done likewise...

oscar was better than most of us thought he would be...
Come on. Even if Oscar would of looked bad. Margarito would still sign to fight him.
i wasnt disagreeing with that aspect...i was just saying we shouldnt critisise him for presuming oscar might have been way beyond his prime....its an assumption many had made...

im sure margarito would face him if offered the chance...it would be an opportunity to finally get more recognition beyond the boxing fraternity...
I'm pretty sure alot of boxers felt the same way as Margarito. They just weren't stupid enough to open there mouths.
i dont understand why he is stupid for saying something many of us had suspected....we all make errors of judgement. oscar looked good against mayorga. very true. but at the end of the day, how much did mayorga himself have left in the tank. at the age of 33, relative inactivity and a beating off trinidad, it seems with hindsight some of us thought mayorga had a little more in him than he did. its all relative and there are always variables that raise uncertainty. only the result can answer any questions.

oscar fought a good fight, but lets not get overboard on all this. mayorga turned out to be very limited. margarito is welcome to his opinion as much as anybody...
Because if they ever fought and Margarito for some miracle was to win. The win would be diminish by his own words.
