However, Gerald was a product of his environment. He is not a unique case, he's merely a man who gained recognition and had his flaws recognised by a wider audience.
Many of the people who condemn him and his clique realise that there are numerous others growing up in a similar environment yet never make any active atempts to help such peole and in turn dissuade these activities.
