Ex-super middleweight titlist Jeff Lacy (23-1, 17 KOs) is reluctant to face Allan Green (26-1, 18 KOs) in a bout Lacy promoter Golden Boy wanted to make for the May 31 Shane Mosley-Zab Judah undercard, so Lacy might face club fighter Joe Spina (22-1-1, 15 KOs), Golden Boy's Eric Gomez told ESPN.com. Spina's loss was a third-round knockout to Peter Manfredo, whom Lacy struggled to beat in his last fight. Green, however, wants to fight Lacy and Golden Boy would make the fight in a heartbeat if Lacy was willing. "If Jeff Lacy wasn't scared we would be fighting May 31. It would already be announced," Green said. "Just like we should have fought when he called me out the last time and I accepted. If you wanna be a fighter then let's fight. If you wanna be a punk then go play ping pong."
