Yea Lyle, I hear ya. I had a few pets I was told "'sent them to a better place...a farm! I'm sorry. But now they can run all day and with other animals, and chase butteflies with other puppy dogs! and eat steak bones until they tire of it!"...etc...
One in particular was what brought me to my connection with this episode. I found him a few years back, frozen in a snowbank awaiting garbage removal day by accident, after following the footsteps leading out to behind the shed. His name was Fred. Met with a chevy or w/e on the road and my dad didn't have the heart to tell me.
Was my best friend for 6 years, so, yea.
I think this episode captures that feeling well, pet or not, and yes...I just watched it...and it made me, erm, think. So I'm going to post it tomorrow.
