What makes it such a flimsy pretense is that we trained Osama to commit acts of terrorism against the USSR just like we gave Iraq weapons to wage war against Iran (whom we incidentally also gave weapons to!). Never fear, the president's just announced that we're heavily fortifying our borders to keep badguys out, much like
